Our house is located in Santo Isidoro, a quiet small village, only a 5-minute drive from Ericeira. Ericeira is THE surfing capital of Europe. A popular retreat for locals, tourists, and surfers from around the world, owing to the forty beaches with good conditions. One of the seven surf spots mentioned in the World Surfing Reserve is Ribeira d’Ilhas, only a 10-minute walk from our house. Besides surfing, Ericeira has such a lovely vibe with her mixture of locals, expats, and travelers. You can enjoy the Ericeira vibes, for example, at one of the terraces at Praça da República. This laid-back fishing village can satisfy a variety of cravings. From traditional to modern Portuguese food, from a good pizza to a healthy vegetarian or vegan meal, From the best top-quality wines to the best coffees Also, we have some fun places to enjoy a good cocktail, live music, and dancing.  Many creatives, nature lovers, and digital nomads were stranded in Ericeira. As a result, many inspirational activities and ideas have arisen. There is always something to do, discover, or learn here! All this, amongst the beautiful green valleys and steep cliffs. And there are so many amazing and authentic places to explore.  Besides Ericeira, there is a lot to see and explore around the island. Lisbon is only 40 minutes away by car. At the same time, you will reach one of the most beautiful vineyards, a place to experience authentic Portugal. Or the medieval town of Obidos, which is one of Portugal's most beautiful and best-kept fortified towns. and so much more to explore! Our big, cozy house is located in the valley of Santo Isidoro, right next to Ribeira d'Ilhas, a world-famous surf spot. The moment you enter our house, you can feel the special vibe and enjoy the spectacular views. The house has five rooms, all of which have a private bathroom and access to the common areas and facilities. Our rooms have just the right amount of classic luxury and a cozy, warm feel. Large windows bring natural light into every room, most of them with beautiful views of the Ribeira Valley. All rooms have a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, heating, and a table to get some work done. The living room offers a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a big fridge. A tea and coffee corner with a good filter machine and grinder to make your freshly ground coffee. A big table in front of the fireplace to enjoy a good meal with your fellow housemates. A reading corner with lots of books and games and a big lounge sofa overlooking the Ribeira Valley and garden.  Attached to the house you will find our Barefoot Coworking, with 8 communal desks, good office chairs or stools and a separate phone booth for your private call or meeting. Find a seat at our communal table and join our Barefoot family. Need a break, fresh air or some inspiration. We have a beautiful garden looking out over the Ribeira Valley. A space to do yoga, meditation or your work out. Or get some waves in between meetings. The garden has a veranda with inspiring valley views. Another grape-covered veranda with a barbecue and a huge Portuguese table. A pool with sunbeds and some cozy areas to chill. You can rinse off your salty and sandy feet in our outside shower and store your surf gear in the shed. And did we mention that it is only a 10-minute walk to Ribeira Beach and the world-famous surf spot? We work with local partners to make our property a place to connect, explore, and learn. Think about gardening, pottery, yoga, climbing, mountain biking, and apnea training. But also enjoy our weekly Farm to the Table Dinners, where we support our love for seasonal and plant-based food. At our place, we like to think about the environment and believe that we can make a difference together. The house has been completely renovated since 2021 and has a much better energy level now. We use a heat pump, have a charging station for your electric car, use eco-friendly cleaning and skin-care products, and much more. We offer comfortable rooms in a warm atmosphere. As well as creating a space where it is easy for you to make new connections, we offer you space to retreat and find privacy. We want you to feel safe and at home, inspired by your housemates and the beautiful and peaceful valley in which you find yourself. Unfortunately, we cannot allow animals because of hygiene and allergy reasons. You are allowed to check in earlier if the room is ready. You may get in contact with us the day before you move in to coordinate. If you wish to check out late, please discuss the possibilities with your host. And you are free to use our communal areas if that is not possible. Please contact the host for possibilities. Please discuss this with your host first, but in general, guests are allowed in the visiting area but NOT in the bedrooms. Be aware that we can assume no liability for your guests or their possessions. As this is essentially a working environment, our facilities aren’t baby-proofed or child-friendly. Having kids around can be a major distraction for other colivers and you. Of course. If a room is released and you want to move in, you will have the opportunity to pay the rent difference. We may also charge an additional room cleaning fee. Smoking is strictly prohibited in any part of the building. That includes all private and communal rooms, hallways, etc. If you choose to smoke, please make sure you do so away from the building, and please make sure you dispose of cigarette butts properly. Yes. We will provide updated info once you have moved in. On the weekday, quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. and from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. on weekends. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night. It’s your home, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, as long as you are respectful to your housemates. If you want to party, make sure you do that together with your housemates or away from the property. Yes, we do. With five ensuite rooms and the capacity to accommodate 10+ guests, our lovely house offers the ideal setting for retreats, small community events, or gatherings of any kind. Even though we have been lucky that nothing has gone missing, we recommend all our members keep their valuable belongings in their rooms. All rooms have a lock on the door. For extra precaution, buy renters insurance in case of lost items and accidents. No. We provide all cleaning before the next resident comes. Yes, but it's limited. Only for some bags/luggage. No furniture. We offer our coworking with 8 communal desks and good office chairs or stool to work. A separate phone booth and also your room has a table and chair. Yes. The communal areas are cleaned twice a week. Bedrooms every week. The living room offers a fully equipped kitchen. The big dining table in front of the fireplace is perfect for community meals. We offer fresh teas and a coffee corner with a good filter machine and grinder to make freshly ground coffee. The living room also has a reading/game corner with a relaxed sofa. And a big lounge sofa to chill on, overlooking the Ribeira Valley and our garden. Our Coworking space offers a communal desk, a good office chair or stool, and a separate phone booth.   The garden has a pool with sunbeds, a hammock, and some cozy areas to chill. There is a fire pit, a veranda with a barbecue, and a huge Portuguese table. You can rinse off your salty and sandy feet at our outside shower, hidden behind the tree. And store your surf gear in the surf shed. On top of everything, we have a therapy room. Which we use for massages, small sessions like breathwork, or a workshop. But it can also be used to meditate or do your yoga practice. It is a cozy and cozy room that offers space for three people. Yes, you can. You have access to a fully equipped kitchen. For every room, there is a cupboard plus a shelf in the fridge. The big dining table in front of the fireplace is perfect for community meals. We offer fresh teas and a coffee corner with a good filter machine and grinder to make freshly ground coffee. We ask that you clean up any mess you make during and after food preparation. We welcome people from all around the world looking for a cozy, calm, inspiring, and fun vibe. Yes, you will have your own room to find privacy. Also, the house offers a space to retreat; for example, you can find a quiet spot in the garden or our therapy room. We recommend that you have renters insurance. Otherwise, the usual cost of your food, possessions, transit, etc., is your own. The common areas come fully furnished. Bedrooms are furnished with everything essential. You can add any furniture as long as the room is returned to its original condition at the end of your tenancy. No. But we have a private chef who can prepare meals on request. And we have a fully equipped kitchen that you can use anytime you want to prepare your food. There are grocery stores for your convenience. The closest shop is only a 5-minute walk away. They are open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (for now) and serve drinks and delicious artisanal cakes and breads! All their vegetables and fruits come from their own land. You can also buy veggie boxes on request. If you have a car, everything is within a 10-minute drive. If you don't like to walk, all is well. When you don't or are in need of bigger shopping, an Uber is around €4 to Ericeira. Also, renting a bike, e-bike, or scooter is a very good option. Just to give you an idea of the timing: Ericeira Center (and big supermarkets) by foot: 50 min by ebike: 15 min by car: 5 min Smaller supermarket by foot: 30 min by ebike: 10 min by car: 3 min. Entire and deep cleaning is carried out every week, including linen and towel changes. We would expect and appreciate it that you clean up after yourself if you make any excessive mess. We have a laundry machine, and we ask for a contribution of €2.50 per wash or €10 if we also hang and fold your clothes. There are several options: 1. By rental car We are on Google Maps. From Lisbon airport, it will take you around 40 minutes to take the highway. Be aware that this is a toll road, and they don't always take foreign cards; some coins or cash is very recommendable. When renting a car, you can also choose the option with an automatic road toll system called Via Verde. With this little reader, you can just pass straight through the road tolls and pay them later. 2. With our neighboring Uber driver, Pasi Very trustworthy, always on time, and will wait for you at the gate with a sign with your name and our logo. His price is €45 one way and €40 when you also drive back with him. Prices are between 07:00 and 19:00; before or after, the price is €50. 3. By Uber You can order an Uber, which will cost you between €40 and €60, depending on the hour. Please be aware that they sometimes cancel your drive because they found a better deal. 4. By public transport You first need to go to the bus station in Campo Grande, which takes around 12 minutes. You can take a bus (€3), shuttle, or Uber. From there, you can take the bus to Ericeira. You can check at the bus station or at www.carrismetropolitana.pt for schedules. Be aware that you are taking a bus that takes the highway! These 'fast' buses take you to Ericeira in around an hour, but they only drive 1 (sometimes 2) times an hour. The'slow' buses can take up to 2+ hours. You can pay on the bus, and the price will be around €7 one way. From Ericeira bus station, we unfortunately don't have a regular schedule; it is not even going every hour. So we suggest taking an Uber; it will be around €4 one way. Yes. We offer additional room cleaning on demand. Yes, you can. We also have a coworking space with two communal desks and a phone booth. We take your safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. All rooms and entrance doors have locks. The entrance doors and windows will all be renewed in 2021. The entrance doors have a secure cylindrical deadbolt system. Also, we live in a very safe country and in a secure neighborhood. Most of the time, people are around, and social security is a big thing. Our coliving home is in a perfectly safe neighborhood where you can walk by yourself in the evening without any problem. For a little fishing town, Ericeira has a lot to offer. from a very traditional to a more modern twist on Portuguese food. But also Japanese, Italian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Latino food. There is also a great offer of healthy vegetarian and vegan food. Besides food, we have some fun places to enjoy a good wine or cocktail. And where do I go for the best coffee? Your host will provide you with all the information on arrival. We have a bus station in front of the house, but keep in mind that there are not many buses going, besides some during traffic hour. We are located in the Ribeira Valley, so everywhere you go, it's up! If you have a car, everything is within a 10-minute drive. If you don't and like to walk, all is well. When you don't or are in need of bigger shopping, an Uber is around €4 to Ericeira. Also, renting a bike, e-bike, or scooter is a very good option.
